Creating Jobs. Changing Lives.

About UDF

Who We Are

Upskill Development Foundation Inc. (UDF) is an independent, non-stock, non-profit organization registered in the Philippines. We advance skilling, employability and entrepreneurship so that more Filipinos can access good jobs and build sustainable livelihoods.

We work with educational institutions, employers, industry chambers, government agencies and ecosystem partners. UDF independently designs, implements and operates its programs in the Philippines and is responsible for its governance, partnerships, operational decisions and program outcomes.

UDF and Wadhwani Foundation

UDF is the local implementation partner of Wadhwani Foundation, a global non-profit founded in 2001 by Dr. Romesh Wadhwani. Wadhwani Foundation works across multiple countries with one mission: accelerating economic development through job creation.

What this means in practice:

Funding

UDF receives philanthropic funding from the Wadhwani Operating Foundation (WOF), a US non-profit within the Wadhwani Foundation network.

Programs and platforms

UDF brings Wadhwani Foundation’s global programs and AI tools to the Philippines, adapts them to local needs, and develops new solutions with local partners.

Local ownership

UDF is a Philippine organization with its own board, governance and team. We decide what works for the Philippines and build local partnerships, research and tools to match.

Our Mission

To expand economic opportunity in the Philippines by helping Filipinos build the skills for meaningful employment and helping entrepreneurs build businesses that create jobs.

We believe skilling and entrepreneurship are two sides of job creation: one prepares people for jobs; the other creates them.
